Update on Variable Pricing

Posted: October 7, 2010 by damnationbooks in Uncategorized

Good afternoon everyone,
I want to let you know that as of today our variable pricing is changing. We’ve decided to keep it in place but shrinking the available time to 24 hours. It’s the result of a hard look at whether the variable pricing model is worthwhile for us after we gave it a year.

Here’s how it works from now on:
When a new book goes live on our website (only) the very first download is free. Then the price rises by 25 cents with each download until the book reaches full retail price or 24 hours have passed–then it goes to full price.  Remember, variable pricing is for ebooks from our website only and doesn’t apply anywhere else.

Normal release dates are March 1st, June 1st, September 1st and December 1st.  Keep an eye on our posts or website for special releases though–like Kathryn Meyer Griffith’s The Last Vampire, which just went live on October 1st.

What this means for books up with variable pricing enabled right now is that until midnight tonight, they will still be on sale. Because all of them have been out for longer than a day, at midnight (Pacific time) they revert to normal price. If you want any of them for the discounted prices, please download them before midnight.

Thank you,

Kim Richards
